Visiting Committees Recommend Reaccreditation

Every five years, all Louisiana schools are required to renew their accreditation with AdvancED. On Wednesday, February 24, and Thursday, February 25, De La Salle was visited by two committees from AdvancED. One committee reviewed the self-study of our junior high (grades 8-9), and the other examined the self-study of the high school (grades 10-12). For the last year and a half, in preparation for this visit, De La Salle has worked on an extensive self-study that focused on the schools strengths as well as areas of improvement.

At the conclusion of the visit, both committees recommended De La Salles reaccreditation.
This recognition serves as validation that De La Salle is committed to continual improvement, and it is also a tribute of the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff, students, parents, alumni, Board of Directors, and all others who are a part of our unique community.

Information about AdvancED

AdvancED is the largest community of education professionals in the world. They are a non-profit, non-partisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of PreK-12 schools and school systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential. AdvancED was created through a 2006 merger of the PreK-12 divisions of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI)-and expanded through the addition of the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) in 2011.
