Letter from the Principal

De La Salle

Office of the Principal

November, 2015

Dear Parents:

We are already a full week into November, and our Open House is behind us! It was a tremendous success, with over three hundred families attending. We thank all students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni for making this event such a spectacular success. As we move toward the Thanksgiving holidays, here are a few major items on the horizon for De La Salle:

Honor Roll Breakfasts

Monday and Tuesday, the 9th and 10th, students in all grade levels who achieved Silver Honor Roll status (3.5 GPA to 3.74 GPA) or Gold Honor Roll status (3.75 GPA to 4.00 GPA and beyond) were honored with a ceremonial breakfast and the presentation of an honor roll card. Congratulations to these students.

Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive

Our canned food drive ends this Friday! Any student who brought in three or more cans qualifies for a maroon and white dress-down day this Friday, the 13th. Congrats to all who have donated to this worthy cause.

Parent Annual Giving Drive

The Parent Annual Giving Drive ends this Friday, November 13th. If you have not returned your pledge cards, please do so at your earliest convenience. It is important to realize that the funds that De La Salle raises from this drive directly impact parents and students, as the money collected keeps tuition affordable and assists in our capital improvements.  We appreciate any financial sacrifice that you can make to support these goals.

Legacy Luncheon on Wednesday of this week

We will hold our annual Legacy Luncheon this Wednesday during the lunch hour.   During this ceremony, all legacy students (students with a mother, father, stepmother, stepfather, or grandfather who graduated from De La Salle) are introduced, and the dedications of our Classrooms of the Future will also take place.

No School for Students

Friendly reminder that students are off during the week of Monday, November 23rd, through Friday, November 27th, for the Thanksgiving holidays. It is our sincere hope that students are able to spend this time connecting with family and reflecting on the many blessings in their lives. We will have a Thanksgiving prayer service on the Friday before the holidays begin.

Extracurricular Activities

Please continue to support our extracurricular activities. Volleyball and Cross Country recently concluded their seasons, and the football team earned a “bye” this week and the overall third seed in the state playoffs.   The swimming season continues, and the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams, the wrestling team, and the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams all open play this month! Please come out and support the Cavs as they take to the field and the floor!

As always, we thank you for entrusting your children to us, and we look forward to a productive and exciting month. Take care, and may God bless you and yours.

Sincerely,

paulsig
