Tortorich No-Hits McMain as Baseball Opens District Play with 22-3 Victory

Senior Drew Tortorich pitched a 5 inning no-hitter for the Cavaliers to open district play versus Eleanor McMain.  Tortorich overcame command issues and a couple of defensive miscues by his infield to defeat the Mustangs 22-3.  A leadoff walk in the first inning led to an early 1-0 deficit, but the Cavaliers responded with a 10 run bottom half of the first and went on to score in all four of their offensive innings.  The Cavaliers used a balanced offensive attack as all nine starters reached base at least one time.
The Cavaliers and Mustangs play again tonight at 6:00 PM at Avenger Field.
