De La Salle sophomore Alexes AIken won the ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR AND SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR FOR COUNTRY AND GOSPEL CATEGORIES FOR her age group at the Tennessee Country and Gospel Music Association Awards . She will be representing Tennessee in the National Competition held in Pigeon Forge during the week of March 12th.
Also, her new all-girl vocal group, Sweet Southern Rain, will make their singing debut this Sunday at Rivertown in Kenner. They are doing a 1 hour show from 7:30-8:30pm. They will be singing Christmas songs and other selections. Alexes will be singing her original that she performed at the awards ceremony called ,Country Boy.
