Important Information Regarding Thursdays Volleyball Game

OFFICE OF THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Congratulations to the Volleyball Team for their district championship and their continuation in the playoffs. The girls’ volleyball team will play the remainder of the playoff games at the Pontchartrain Center. This is a single elimination tournament. The state championship finals are scheduled for Saturday, November 15th. In order to reach the finals, the girls will have to win two games in the Pontchartrain Center. The first game in the Pontchartrain Center is on Thursday, November 13th at 12:40. The second game in the Pontchartrain Center will be on Friday, November 14th at 11:50.

We will have student fan bus sign-up sheets for Thursdays game available during lunch today and through lunch tomorrow. Students who would like to attend the game will have the opportunity to sign up to ride the fan bus. Students who ride the bus need to know that there will be a $10-$12 admission charge to enter the game.

The bus will leave Thursday at 11:15, and the bus, in all probability, will not return until after 2:45. The cheerleaders will be the only group that will be automatically seated on the fan buses. All other seats on the bus will require a sign up. Students who attend the volleyball game will be required to make up any work missed in class.

Because of the short time period involved in this activity, we will not be sending home permission slips to sign. For those students not attending the game, it will be a regular school day with a 2:45 dismissal. Ask your child if he/she has signed up for the fan bus or he/she is planning to sign up for the fan bus; and, if they are planning on riding but you would prefer that they stay in school, please contact me.

If the team wins on Thursday, a similar process will be implemented for Friday’s game. Only students who attended Thursday’s game will be given the option to ride the fan buses on Friday.

Thank you for your help and understanding of the lateness of this notice. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Myles M Seghers, Ph.D.
