Faculty Spotlight, Rebecca Cope

Rebecca Cope joined De La Salle’s faculty in 2016 as a chemistry and environmental science teacher. In addition to teaching, she also moderated the ECO Club at De La Salle.
“Ms. Cope does an excellent job with our junior and senior science students. She is passionate about environmental issues here in New Orleans and Louisiana, as well as issues that affect our world. Ms. Cope works very hard to make science real for our students so that they appreciate the impact of what they are learning as it directly relates to their lives.” — Paul Kelly ’83, Principal

Rebecca attended the University of Hawaii at Hilo where she double majored in biology and marine science. She then earned her Master of Science degree in earth and environment science from the University of New Orleans. Rebecca enjoys scuba diving, yoga, and working on sustainability projects.
