National Honor Society Moderator | No Place for Hate Moderator
John Charles came to De La Salle in 2014 with a wealth of experience in academics and life, and he has delivered. Though his main role is Academic Advisor, he also teaches a course in mathematics, moderates the National Honor Society, and is the moderator for De La Salle’s newest initiative, sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), called No Place for Hate. De La Salle has been selected to pilot this program in the state of Louisiana by the ADL. John, several faculty members, and a team of students have started training with the ADL to learn how to address acts of bias, bigotry, and bullying.
John attended Howard University in Washington, D.C. and earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering, after which he returned to New Orleans to earn his M.S.E. from the University of New Orleans in electrical engineering. Outside of the classroom, John enjoys researching wellness techniques, photography, martial arts, and motorcycling.
