De La Salle’s Semaj Lewis selected Small Schools Male Athlete of the Week

Lewis took home first place in one of the premier indoor track and field events this weekend at the LHSAA championships in Baton Rouge. The 5-foot-7 junior finished with a rare sub-seven in the 60-meter dash (video) recording an official time of 6.99. Lewis beat out Southern Lab’s Devin Dixon, who finished with a time of 7.09. He also won NOLA.coms online voting receiving 513 votes (41.1 percent), 168 more than St. Martins guard Brandon Womac.
