De La Salle Student Earns Irish Trip

De La Salle junior Marisa Thomassie recently competed in an Irish Network-New Orleans (IN-NOLA)-sponsored essay contest on the Ireland-New Orleans connection today. She is one of four finalists from the city who has earned an expense-paid two week seminar to University College, Dublin in June.

“We’ll be attending college sponsored lectures and tours of Irish culture and history,” Marisa said, “and I’m really excited about this opportunity.”

Marisa heard about the contest through DLS College Counselor Kerri Caruso.

“I don’t know why no one else from De La Salle entered,” Marisa said, “but I’m so glad I did.”

IN-NOLA is a chapter of IN-USA, a new organization founded by the Irish Ambassador in the U.S. in November 2011. IN-USA was formed to enhance, develop and maintain new and existing connections of the Irish community in the U.S.
