De La Salle Band, Color Guard, Cavalettes Take Top Honors in Class A Louisiana Marching Band Competition in Destrehan, Take ‘Excellent’ in LMEA District competition
The De La Salle High School Marching Band and Auxiliary Units of the Color Guard and Cavalettes Dance team recently swept the Class A category in the Marching Band Competition in Destrehan recently.
The Band took “Best Music” and “Best Percussion” awards; the Auxiliary units of the Color Guard and Cavalettes took “Best Auxiliary” and “Best Visual” titles, and the entire combined group earned 1st place Overall.
Later, in the LMEA District competition at East Jefferson High School Drum Major Maggie Fraizer earned a Superior rating, and the Percussion, Auxiliary and Overall Band earned Excellent ratings.
The Band is under the direction of Duncan Pray, the Color Guard is under the direction of Janell Weber, and the Cavalettes are under the direction of Karli Taylor.
