Mascot/Logo

The De La Salle Mascot, the Cavalier, has stood as a visual image of how a De La Salle student should act both inside the classroom and through their entire lifetime. The name Cavalier comes from Spanish, French and English ideals that contributed to Louisiana culture and De La Salle tradition: the Spanish caballero's chivalrous conduct, the French chevalier's devotion to duty, and the English cavalier's perfect example of loyalty.

The De La Salle Cavalier is the true Christian, devoted teammate, and soldier, faithful to Christ the King.

"The De La Salle Cavalier is more than just a mascot -- it is a way of life. At De La Salle we try each and every day to be true to the ideal of the Cavalier. The Cavalier embodies a person who is sensitive to others' needs and is strong and true to their services. A Cavalier realizes that to spend one's life for God in the service of others is the raison d'etre.

The De La Salle Cavalier believe that no one is insignificant and that everyone is important for all are loved unconditionally by a faithful, loving God. The De La Salle Cavalier realizes that differences have the power to enrich and need not divide. The De La Salle Cavalier is in the service of God and humanity."
