PAG Letter From the President
August 9, 2010

Dear Parents,

Sixty-one years ago, when others might have waited for the struggling 1949 economy to improve, The Brothers of the Christian Schools acted instead, and opened De La Salle High School. Their faith and courage made all the difference in the lives of those first 74 students, whose need for spiritual, intellectual, physical and social development couldn’t wait another year.

As somebody once said, it seems that the more things change, the more they stay the same. As you read this letter, another academic year is at hand. De La Salle teachers and students will do their best to achieve a top-notch Lasallian education. And although the rest of us may not be present in the classroom, what happens there is partly up to us, too.

I’m writing to ask you to support the Parents Annual Giving Drive now under way. By helping us reach 100% participation by parents, you will show your children Brianna and Brittany and all De La Salle school students and teachers that, like Brother John Devine, Brother Ernest Cogagne, Brother August Faure, Brother Francis Vesel -- determined Christian Brothers who opened the school in 1949—you know that here is the place, and now is the time, for De La Salle.

Now, as then, it takes a lot to provide an exceptional educational experience for students. De La Salle needs your help to cover the difference between tuition and what it actually costs to educate each student. This year, that gap is $1,800 per student.

Each and every gift not only helps De La Salle close that gap, but inspires teachers who are working to help develop our community’s future leaders. Every contribution goes directly to support Brittany and Brianna’s education.

God bless and thank you for your support of De La Salle.

St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
Live, Jesus, in our hearts. Forever!
