Boys Basketball Season Comes To An End

In a game that nobody gave the Cavaliers a chance to compete in, De La Salle  proved to be road warriors Friday night in Bossier City.  The Cavaliers playing over five hours from home on the campus of the Bossier Bearkats kept the issue in doubt until the final horn.  Neither team ever had a lead larger than eight points.  The Cavaliers led by four points at the end of the first period 15-11, but Bossier came back in the second quarter to take a one point lead to the locker room at the half, 24-23.  The Bearkats would extend their lead to four points by the end of the third quarter, 46-42.  And that four point margin held true as the Bearkats held on for a 57-53 victory.  The Bearkats, who start five seniors, advance to face the winner of Parkview Baptist and Rayville in the regional round on Tuesday.  The Cavaliers, who started 3 freshmen, definitely have a lot to look forward to next season.
Congratulations to the Cavaliers, who finished the season with a record of 20 wins and 9 defeats, on a wonderful season.  Best wishes to the senior class of Lawrence Allen, Ronnie Briggs, Luke Kelly and Jackson Ladner.
